Using blog in the classroom
After reading the first three chapters learning about blogs and how educators use blogs in the classroom, it made me think of ways that I could use blogs in Health and Physical Education. The one thing that troubles me is how to possibly integrate blogs with my subject matter. I was thinking perhaps students could use the blogs to keep a record of their self-evaluations or a journal of what they experience in each new topic covered. What suggestions could you recommend to me that would help me think of more ways to use blog in Health and Physical Education?

I think this format could be used with setting up and pursuing an exercise/health program. Students could refer to articles and resources that support the program they are choosing.
Starlyn suggested to me that students could keep their daily fitness or nutrition logs in their blog. I thought about allowing students to write personal reflections on topics and allow others to comment or relate. :)
The students may even comment or offer suggestions on an activity in PE or health class. Not that you have to do everything they suggest, but it does allow them some input or a place to discuss thoughts.
Thank you, I love all of the ideas posted. I currently have students post their daily physical activity on a teacher produced chart and they respond in their journals about the physical activity experiences they have encountered. Having students place all of this information on a blog would count down on paper and grading time. I like the idea to have students post their thoughts on activities experienced in class or offer new activities. This would not only provide me with constructive feedback in what is and is not effective but it would provide studnets with a sense of "ownership" becuase they do have say and can offer suggestions for new experiences that they feel would benefit learning.
